The directors were also asked to partner with the provinces' labour federations, management boards of industrial zones and the provinces' People's Committees to help the affected firms in carrying out their business and production activities. Workers also would be provided support during the period of suspension of work.

The order was issued on May 16 after workers in industrial zones in Binh Duong, Dong Nai, HCM City and Ha Tinh protested China's illegal placement of its oil rig in Viet Nam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf in recent days.

Protesters broke the gates, walls and properties of companies owned by investors from Taiwan, China and some other countries. These firms suspended their business and production operations during these days.

The minister also asked the chiefs of the tax and customs departments to assist the affected firms with their information technology systems, accounting data and official documents so that the tax enumeration and payment, account balance sheet and remission of taxes of enterprises are not affected. They have to help the import and export companies with electronic customs clearance so that their operations run on time and are not halted.

The chiefs also have to cooperate with agencies, especially insurance firms, to resolve the issue of the losses being made by the enterprises following the insurance regulations.
