Four airports wait for foreign investment

The list was approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung recently. According to  baoquangninh.com.vn, the international airport, spanning over 284.6 hectares in Doan Ket Commune, Van Don District, was designed using international standard to receive B777 aircraft with a carrying capacity of 2–5 million visitors and 30,000 tonnes of cargo per year.

The US$244 million airport is expected to be implemented under the methods of Public Private Partner (PPP) and Build, Operation and Transfer (BOT).

Other three airports included in the list were in phase I: Long Thanh International in southern Dong Nai Province worth $5.62 billion, Cam Ranh International Airport in southern Khanh Hoa Province worth $212 million and Lao Cai Airport in northern mountain Lao Cai Province worth $60 million.

According to local data, Viet Nam has around 30 airports across the country.
