Dong Nai praised in building new-style rural areas

(ĐN) – On May 6, a delegation from Central Steering Committee for the National Target Programme on Building New-style Rural Areas, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Huu Chi of Finance Ministry, had a working session with Dong Nai province on constructing new rural areas in 2011-2013 period.

(ĐN) – On May 6, a delegation from Central Steering Committee for the National Target Programme on Building New-style Rural Areas, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Huu Chi of Finance Ministry, had a working session with Dong Nai province on constructing new rural areas in 2011-2013 period.

After three years implementing a national programme on new rural development, 15 communes in Dong Nai have satisfied all the 19 of the programme’s criteria, posting the rate of 11%, higher than the general rate of the whole country. Xuan Loc district in the province has been a role model in the national campaign, with 7 out of its 14 communes recognized as new-style rural areas. It is striving to become first new rural district nationwide by the end of 2014.

During the session, Deputy Minister heard proposals of the province on credit programme for the agriculture sector, incentive policies for enterprises investing in agriculture and rural areas. He also highly appreciated achievements obtained by Dong Nai in the past time and stressed that further efforts should be made to encourage enterprises to invest in agricultural and rural development, promote the trademarks for local agricultural products.

At the same day, the delegation paid a working visit to Hung Thinh commune, Trang Bom district.
