(ĐN)- Some farmers in Vinh Cuu district harvested 8 tonnes per hectare in their intensive high-quality rice farming areas in the Winter-Spring crop 2013-2014, up 2-2.5 tonnes/ha compared to traditional rice cultivation, said Tran Viet Huy, Head of the district's Agricultural Promotion Department.
The district planted 50 ha of high quality rice farming in Tan An commune in this crop.
In the intensive rice farming areas, the district applied advanced production technology to increase rice’s output and quality.
Presently, the rice price is over VND5,000 per kilogram. With this price, farmers could get the profit of more than VND20 million per hectare.
