(ĐN)- Dong Nai will sign economic development agreement with Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE), by the end this year.
The province will also suggest setting up a representative office in Dubai in order to promote trade and investment with the emirate and other countries in West Asia.
The Vietnamese products exported to Dubai will have favorable condition as they can enter not only in the emirate but also Middle East and North Africa markets.
In addition, Dubai is the world’s most attractive duty-free market as businesses pay a very low rate of import tax, ranging from 0-5 percent.
Presently, Dubai expects to import large number of fruit and vegetables.
As known, UAE is Vietnam’s largest trade partner in West Asia and 17th largest export market in the world.
It predominantly imports cell phones, electronic products and spare parts, garments and textiles, footwear, seafood, agricultural products, spices, food, building materials, and fruit and vegetables from Vietnam.
The two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the UAE has increased significantly over the past few years, rising from US$550 million in 2008 to US$2.38 billion in 2012, up 82% compared to 2011.
