(ĐN) - On March 20, Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee had a working session with departments, agencies and localities on the province’s socio-economic situation, national defence and security in the first quarter of the year.
In Jan-March period, the province’s total budget collection is estimated at more than VND7.6 trillion, up 14% against the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the state budget expenditure is at approximately VND2.6 trillion, a decrease of 1%.
Dong Nai reported GDP growth rate of 10.2% in the first three months of this year and registered a sharp increase in domestic and foreign investment, meeting 56% of the year’s target. However, agricultural production and export saw a slow growth rate between Jan and March.
Five out of the 11 groups of commodities saw price hikes in this period, including beverage, textile and garment, footwear, household appliances, and group of housing, electricity, water, fuel. The cost of post and telecommunication services saw a slight drop.
At the working session, Vice Chairman Tran Minh Phuc of the provincial People’s Committee called for more efforts to solve difficulties in industrial and agricultural production and boost trade promotion activities, assist local enterprises in expanding export market.
