Two electronic customs projects include the application of an automated cargo system and customs database to increase the efficiency of import-export activities.
With financial and technical assistance from the Japanese Government, the system is an important step for Vietnam to automate customs procedures, thus facilitating and better managing the circulation of imports and exports.
The two projects were put into trial operation in November last year. During the trial operation, local importing and exporting businesses have been provided with maximum technical assistance and consultancy.
