Nearly 11,000 enterprises registered for new establishment in the first two months this year, with a total capital of about VND63 trillion, reported the Business Registration Management Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

According to the agency, in spite of difficulties in production and business since the start of the year, the number of newly-established enterprises still increased by 13.1 percent, with a 28.4 percent rise in registered capital, compared to the same period last year.

However, during the period, number of dissolved and suspended enterprises also soared 12.2 percent over a year earlier, to 13,000 enterprises. This showed many enterprises faced obstacles in operating and accessing capital sources.

At a regular press briefing of the Government on February 28, Minister and Head of Government Office Nguyen Van Nen said that the Government asked the State Bank of Vietnam to speed up lending, promote credit growth and focus on prioritized fields, ensuring equal apportion of outstanding credit balance monthly./.
