500kV Vinh Tan – Song May power line connected to national grid

The National Power Transmission Corporation, a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity, successfully connected the 500kV Vinh Tan – Song May power line to the national grid on March 16.

The 236km line, which runs through Binh Thuan and Dong Nai provinces, required a total investment of VND2.9 trillion (US$136.3 million).

The line connects Vinh Tan Thermal Power Centre and other power plants in the south central region to the national grid.

The first trial run of the power line began on August 28, 2013.

The construction of the line took three years, during which compensation was given for the displacement of more than 2,600 local households.
