The information was heard at a meeting held on January 16 by the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to deploy plans for 2014.
Last year’s agro-forestry-fisheries production value was estimated at VND26.3 trillion; the province's crop plants’ mechanism has been transferred; local farmers have applied advanced scientific technology in agriculture to raise their incomes; and the quantity of the total herd of domestic animals has been increased.
Addressing at the meeting, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee asked the sector to work with the localities to carry out restructuring the agricultural sector to increase production value as well as taking drastic measures to attain the target of 20 rural communes in the province completing their rural construction plans.
