(ĐN)- Tran Thanh Toan, head of Tran Gia Banh Chung enterprise in Bien Hoa city’s Tan Tien ward, said that his enterprise will export 35 tonnes of Banh Chung- a traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) savoury- to European, Asian and Australian countries.
The enterprise will also ship four tonnes of traditional phrynium wrapping leaves to the US. Banh Chung (square glutinous rice cake) for export can be kept as long as three months and served after several minutes of microwave oven cooking.
In 2008, Tran Gia’s Banh Chung was awarded exclusive trademark certification by the the National Office of Intellectual Property of Viet Nam.
Over this Tet festival, Tran Gia will also supply hundreds of tonnes of Banh Chung to serve the domestic market, distributed in domestic supermarket chains.
