The ministry directed petrol distributors to reduce the retail prices of oil and petrol by at least VND241 per litre.
Accordingly, RON 92 and RON 95 petrol are now sold at VND23,630 and VND24,130 per litre, respectively, while the retail prices of diesel, kerosene and mazut remain unchanged.
Fuel traders were ordered to maintain the current fuel price stabilisation fund subsidy at VND200 per litre for petrol, VND300 and VND700 per litre for diesel and kerosene, and VND200 per kilogramme for mazut.
This is the second reduction in the last month, following a VND400 decrease on October 7.
