(ĐN)- On August 1, Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to review the implementation progress of the Livestock Competitiveness and Food Safety Project (Lifsap).
Lifsap was implemented in the province from 2010 with the total investment of US$6.4 million, financed by World Bank.
The objectives of the project are to achieve increased production efficiency of household producers, reduce negative environmental impact by supporting livestock producers, markets and slaughterhouses to meet environmental standards, and improved food safety by supporting slaughterhouses and meat markets to operate at national hygienic standards.
After nearly 3 years of implementation, the project has established 49 breeding areas under the good husbandry practices, funded to build fresh food areas at 17 markets and three concentrated slaughter-houses.
In the incoming time, Lifsap will support local breeders to build biogas tanks, nine concentrated slaughter-houses and fresh food areas at nine markets
