The National Power Transmission Corporation under Electricity of Vietnam has recently placed into operation the Song May 500kV transformer station in Dong Nai province and connected the 110kV and 220kV lines to it.
The station, which was built at a cost of more than VND700 billion (US$32.9 million), includes a 500kV transformer tower with a capacity of 600 MVA and another 220kV of distribution equipment.
The new power system is expected to provide adequate supply for Dong Nai province and north Ho Chi Minh City as well as improve the efficiency of the national power grid in the area.
