Dong Nai province’s Industry Promotion and Industrial Development Consultation Center will focus on implementing industry promotion projects in the remaining months of this year.

In the first six months of this year, the center cooperated with the Duc Thanh II Co., Ltd. to organize sewing training for 350 rural workers in the province; organize training courses in terms of industry promotion and state management for 27 officers in Trang Bom district; launch the 2013 innovation contest and vote outstanding rural industrial products, reported Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade.

The center has also implemented advisory tasks, such as consulting bidding for highway shipbuilding, constructing the anti-thunderbolt system, the traffic camera system and industrial infrastructure in Nhon Trach district and propagandizing about saving-energy solutions and cleaner production in the province.

According to the year’s plan, Dong Nai’s total industry promotion budget reaches VND7.05 billion, including VND700 million from national budget and VND6.35 billion from local budget. This year, the center targets to deploy seven industry promotion projects. However, some projects have not been deployed yet in the first half, such as the projects on supporting the application of modern equipment in handling environmental pollution, constructing performance models and providing training courses for officers and vocational training for 500 rural workers.

The deployment of industry promotion projects in the first six months of this year has not brought positive results. However, compared to 2012, the quality of industry promotion has been higher compared to cities and provinces in the southeast region.

Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade’s leader stressed that further efforts should be made to ensure the assigned plans. Accordingly, the center should associate industry promotion projects with economic programs to supplement resources for industry promotion tasks.

Dong Nai’s total industry promotion budget in 2012 reached about VND4.089 billion, of which, national and local industry promotion budget stood at VND850 million and VND3.349 billion respectively. The center trained more than 850 rural workers for industrial sewing, carving, bamboo and rattan weaving; supported the development of technical performance models for three rural industrial businesses. The province’s rural industrial products have been widely advertised through support projects and have been participated in trade fairs and exhibitions. In particular, propagandizing about saving-energy solutions and cleaner production has engaged the interests of beneficiaries.
