The event was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Ly of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association.
Addressing at the congress, Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Ly emphasized the need to implement measures to increase the quality of emulation movements; accordingly, the association should closely cooperate with relevant agencies, local authorities, front committees, scientists and enterprises to promote emulation movements throughout the province.
Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong also stressed that further efforts should be made by the association and its agencies in the next term to boost emulation movements in production and business, improve farmers living conditions.
The congress elected a 37-member executive committee for the 2013-2018 term. Mr Ngo Ngoc Thanh was re-elected Chairman of the provincial Farmers Association, Mr Le Huu Thien and Mr Le Buu Chau were elected Vice Chairmen of the Association.
