Latest data by the General Statistics Office shows industrial manufacturing index rising by 5.8 percent in April as compared to the same period last year.
Mining showed increase by 1 percent; industrial processing and manufacturing climbed 6.9 percent; production and distribution of power surged 9.2 percent; and water supply, waste and wastewater treatment edged up 9.7 percent.
In the first four months of this year, industrial manufacturing index shot up 5 percent year-on-year with industrial processing and manufacturing contributing most growth.
As for industrial manufacturing index of provinces and cities under the central government in the first four months of this year, Ho Chi Minh City posted an increase of 3.9 percent compared to the same period last year; Dong Nai Province 7 percent; Binh Duong Province 8.6 percent; Hanoi City 4.7 percent; Hai Phong City 2.5 percent; Bac Ninh Province 7.6 percent; Vinh Phuc Province 15.1 percent; Can Tho City 5.8 percent; Hai Duong Province 7.7 percent; and Da Nang City 10.7 percent.
