(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s retail sales of merchandise goods and services in February grows by only 1.53% against the previous month due to the low purchasing power caused by economic difficulties, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.

Normally, the retail revenue shot up staggeringly during the Tet holiday. According to the department, the purchasing power in the Tet holiday this year is not as strong as in previous years, partly resulting from economic difficulties which leave an impact on consumers’ income, spending and buying power.

In the last two months, the province’s total retail sales increase by 19% year-on-year.

This is a relatively low growth, because in the previous years, the total retail sales often picked up 25-26% year-on-year.

The tourism sector showed the strongest growth with 25%; the services grew by 24%, the hotel-restaurant sector up 23% and the trade sector 17.5%.
