Vietnamese mobile service provider MobiFone has become the 12th member of the Bridge Alliance (BA), joining 11 other leading mobile operators in the Asia-Pacific region.

MobiFone’s membership will increase the BA’s total subscribers to more than 450 million.

MobiFone General Director Mai Van Binh expressed his delight at joining the largest Asia-Pacific alliance for mobile carriers.

It demonstrates MobiFone’s commitment to offering customers innovative products and services, especially regarding international roaming and flexible solutions for transnational businesses.

BA will grant MobiFone access to leading technical services and the opportunity to cooperate with other Asian mobile firms, he added.

BA CEO Alessandro Adriani said MobiFone’s entrance is an important milestone for the alliance, destined to help its customers profit from an expanded international roaming service and contracts, linking multinational enterprises over a larger geological area.

Established in 1993, MobiFone is the first GMS mobile operator in Vietnam to use the 900/1800 frequency.

It has won the most popular mobile network title for six successive years since 2005 and currently has over 35 million subscribers.
