(ĐN)- The province’s rice output in 2012 is estimated at nearly 345,000 tonnes, an increase of more than 8,000 tonnes over the previous year, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reported.
The rise was due to the spread of high- yield rice varieties and the application of modern cultivation techinques.
Dong Nai's average rice yield has been rising in the past two years, reaching 5.1 tonnes per hectare now from 4.8 tonnes in 2011 and 4.6 tonnes in 2010.
