Dong Nai exports 111,000 tons of coffee

(ĐN)- Dong Nai-based enterprises shipped abroad nearly 111,000 tones of coffee in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year rise of 31,000 tons, according to the province’s Statistics Office.

Tin Nghia Corp and Long Khanh district-based Minh Huy Company took the lead in exporting coffee.

The province’s coffee export is expected to reach nearly 126,000 tons this year.

Dong Nai now has more than 18,000 ha of coffee under cultivation; most of which are in harvest time, with an annual average yield of 1.8 tons per ha.  With the price of VND40,000 - VND41,000 a kilogram, the coffee growers can earn profit of at least VND40-50 million per ha.
