(ĐN)- Most Dong Nai-based taxi service providers increased fares after fuel companies hiked petrol prices by VND1,100 per litre on August 13.

Accordingly, Mai Linh Taxi Company increased their fares by  VND800 -1.000 per km , depending on cab types, while Vinasun upped fare rates by VND500 per km for all of its cabs

The companies said that as fuel prices have increased three times since July 20, rising a total of VND2,400 a liter, or 11.6 percent, they had to adjust fares to cover expenses.

Meanwhile, many transportation firms have started to raise their charges by 5-10 percent.

However, bus operators still have no plans to increase their fairs, said the province’s Public Transportation Management and Operation Center.
