More efforts to develop agricultural co-operatives

(ĐN)- Chairman of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Dao Xuan Can on August 22 had a working session with leaders of Dong Nai province’s Cooperative Alliance.

Over the past seven months, 12 new co-operatives were established in the province, fulfilling 60% of the year's target.  Besides, the province also re-organized 18 co-operatives and dissolved 5 ineffective ones.

Currently, Dong Nai has 238 co-operatives and 2 co-operative groups with the total charter capital of more than VND 1,100 billion and 50,000 members. So far, the cooperatives have created jobs for over 7,500 laborers.

Speaking at the session, Chairman Can suggested the provincial alliance make more efforts to further develop agricultural co-operatives. He stressed that the development of  agricultural co-operatives played a crucial role in building new rural models as well as narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas.
