Dong Nai government is calling for investment in three sub-zones dedicated to supporting industries, placing the top priority on machinery and electronics manufacturing.

Chau Minh Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, said each supporting industry sub-zone covers some 80 hectares. The three sub-zones are located within the industrial parks Giang Dien, Nhon Trach 6 and An Phuoc.

He informed the Dong Nai government had asked infrastructure developers of the zones to relocate and rebuild workshops to lure enterprises operating in supporting industries to invest in production in the three sub-zones.

When investing in these sub-zones, enterprises in the supporting industries for machinery and electronics manufacturing will enjoy a corporate income tax rate of 10% in 15 years, tax exemption in four years and a 50% tax cut in nine subsequent years. In addition, investors will be exempt from land rentals in 15 years and offered loans with preferential interest rates.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai gave nod to the pilot establishment of the three sub-zones for supporting industries in Dong Nai. Accordingly, investors in these zones will receive investment and tax incentives.

Nguyen said there are 588 supporting industry enterprises in Dong Nai, supplying devices and components to manufacturers of machinery, electronics, plastic and rubber products. However, the supporting industries in the province are still of a small scale and few enterprises can guarantee product quality and prompt delivery to the multinational companies.
