(ĐN)- Germany-based Robert Bosch Group, an auto spare parts maker, announced that it will invest additional US$190 million to expand its plant in Long Thanh Industrial Park by 2015.
With this investment increase, the total investment Bosch has spent on this plant will be US$322 million.
Earlier, in August last year, the group increased investment for its production facility from US$63 million to US$132.8 million.
The expansion of the plant, which makes push belts used for continuously variable transmission in automobiles, is to meet rising global demand, said the managing director of Robert Bosch Vietnam.
To meet the expansion, the plant will recruit additional 700 workers, increasing its total of workers to 1,300 by 2016.
Bosch Group obtained total revenues of US$220.5 million in Vietnam last year, up 75% from the previous year, mainly resulting from the export of push-belts.
