(ĐN)- Dong Nai is estimated to export approximately 600 tones of honey in the first five months of the year, a decrease of nearly 1,300 tones against same period last year, according to Dong Nai Statistic Bureau.
The decrease is due to an export reduction in honey to the US, the largest importer of the local product.
Dong Nai is now home to fifteen of thousands of beehives, largely concentrated in the districts of Xuan Loc, Cam My and Long Khanh town.
With export output of around 30,000 tons, Vietnam is now ranked second in Asia and sixth in the world for export of honey.
Vietnam’s honey products are mainly exported to the US, Canada, Japan, Germany and Taiwan.
