$200 mil agreements signed at Vinacas Cashew Rendezvous

(ĐN) – Vinacas Golden Cashew Rendezvous 2012 was opened at Khanh Hoa province’s Nha Trang city on May 22.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Department of Processing and Trade for Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Products and Salt Production Do Van Nam, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh and more than 300 foreign clients and Vietnamese cashew processing enterprises.

At the event, Vietnamese cashew exporters signed agreements worth more than US$200 million. Over the first four months, the cashew sector earned US$372 million in exports. The sector targets to export 170,000 tons of cashew nuts and 60,000 tons of cashew oil in 2012, with an export turnover of US$1.5 billion.
