Rice prices soar, pork prices fall

(ĐN)- The rice prices have increased sharply in recent days in Dong Nai province. According to rice merchants, high demand for rice exports in the global market has driven up the price of rice in the domestic market. The retail prices of rice in the province has risen by VND 500– VND 1,500 per kg. Particularly, the price of Thai scented rice products has surged by VND1,500 per kilo to VND 22,000 while Taiwanese scented rice price has jumped by VND1,000 per kilo to VND 18,000.

Meanwhile, retail pork prices in Dong Nai have fallen by VND 5,000–VND10,000 per kilo when compared to the previous month, to VND85,000 for thigh, VND 90,000 for bacon, VND110,000 for ribs and VND100,000 for loin. The pork prices has dropped this month due to an abundant supply, according to local traders.
