(ĐN)- According to the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province’s trade deficit jumped to US$1.043 billion in the first nine months of the year, a decrease of over US$ 300 million compared to the same period last year.
Dong Nai’s export turnover surpassed US$7 billion while the province imported products worth over US$ 8 billion during the first nine months of the year, up 30.3 percent and 23.7 percent respectively from the same period last year.
The import surge mainly stemmed from a high demand for raw materials for production in the following industries: textile and garment, footwears, timber processing, fertilizer and animal feed production…
Dong Nai is noted to be the only locality with trade deficits in the key southern economic region.
