The six-day fair attracted 200,000 visitors and earned VND 24 billion. Many businesses recorded high sales turnover including Vinatex VND 645 million, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) VND 469 million, the Binh Tien (Bitis) company VND 441 million, Van Thanh Cushion VND 274 million, Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company VND 187 million, Chi Thanh Plastic company VND 164 million…

The fair was jointly organized by the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Businesses Association, Saigon Marketing Magazine and Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade.

The six-day fair featured a wide range of products, including household utensils, food, building materials, interior decorations, garments, handicrafts, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Many of these products are sold at discount prices.

The organizers hoped the fair would offer an opportunity for businesses to build their trademarks and encourage consumers to use domestically-made products.

With a population of 2.4 million people and an increase of 13.5 per cent in GDP in 2010 against 2009 – double the GDP growth rate of the whole country in 2010 – Dong Nai is one of the most promising markets for domestic businesses.
