Pig prices up

(ĐN)- During a recent one-week period, prices of live pigs in Dong Nai province have risen by 2,000-3,000 VND per kg to 52,000-54,000 VND per kg. With this price, local pig raisers can get a profit of close to 1 milllion per quintal of live pigs.

Pig sales in Dong Nai are still stagnant despite the increase in prices, according to owners of pig farms in the province. Abundant pig supplies from Northern region and the declining demand for pigs in northern provinces and cities led to stagnant market conditions.

Though animal feed producers anounced to decrease their products in September, local pig raisers face high animal feed cost because feed traders are dealing with high prices.
