Nearly 840,000 ATM cards issued in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- So far, 837,000 ATM cards have been issued in Dong Nai province and 374 ATM machines set up, according to the latest report from the Dong Nai branch of the State Bank of Viet Nam. In addition, Dong Nai-based banks have also been strongly developing the network of Electronic Data Capture (EDC)/ Point of Sale (POS) with a total number of up to 438 devices, creating a perfect card payment system to serve customers.

The quality and convenience of non-cash payment methods remain limited, while online payment services like mobile banking, internet banking, and E-Wallet are yet to become popular, the banks admitted.

Commercial banks are increasingly focusing on promoting the use of credit and other cards. The network of vendors accepting cards also needs to be enlarged to enable the wider use of cards for buying goods and services.
