High moisture content from heavy rains in recent months have created conditions conducive to disease and insect outbreaks on cashew trees.

The three districts of Xuan Loc, Cam My and Trang Bom were the hardest hit.

The Provincial Plant Protection Department has urged local farmers to give more care for their cashew trees, clean up their cashew gardens frequently, cut off affected branches as well as  spray chemicals on affected cashew trees to prevent the spreading of insects and diseases.
