(ĐN)- A total of 548 hectares of pepper trees in some districts of Dong Nai province have been damaged so far this year by insects and diseases, according to the Provincial Plant Protection Department.
High moisture content from heavy rains in recent months has created conditions conducive to disease and insect outbreaks on pepper trees. The five districts of Xuan Loc, Vinh Cuu, Dinh Quan, Tan Phu and Trang Bom and Long Khanh town were the hardest hit.
The Provincial Plant Protection Department has urged local farmers to spray chemicals on affected pepper trees to prevent the spreading of insects and diseases.
