According to the report, Dong Nai’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the nine-month period grew by 13.2 percent year-on-year, fulfilling 75.2 percent of the yearly plan. The industry-construction sector registered a 17.6 per cent increase. The province’s export turnover surpassed US$7 billion while the province imported products worth over US$ 8 billion during the first nine months of the year, up 30.3 percent and 23.7 percent respectively from the same period last year.

Apart from these above mentioned achievements, Dong Nai faced many difficulties and challenges during the nine-month period as follows: the complicated situation of the latest epidemics of hand, foot and mouth disease and dengue fever in the province, the September consumer price index hitting a record high of 2.87 per cent month-on-month…

In the socio-economic development plan for 2012, the province’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate is set at 12-13 per cent

Addressing at the meeting, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai spoke highly of Dong Nai's achievements in socio-economic development in the first nine months of the year in the context of global economic difficulties due to impacts of crisis and recession. Thai also said that he agreed with a GDP growth rate of 12-13 percent set for 2012 which would help create momentum for more sustainable development in the years to come.
