Under the Decision No. 315/QĐ-TTg, applied from July 1, 2011, twenty-one provinces and cities nationwide will carry out the pilot program. Dong Nai is one of nine provinces selected to participate in livestock and poultry insurance.
Dong Nai will implement pilot program for pig, chicken, buffalo, cow in 9 communes of Xuan Loc, Dinh Quan and Tan Phu districts.
The State will provide 100% and 80% insurance costs for poor and close-to-poor agricultural households or individuals engaging in the program.
In addition, the rate of insurance costs will be 60% for other farming individuals or households and 20% for agricultural organizations.
According to plan, 337 poor households, 4,655 farming individuals and 170 pig and chicken farms will participate in the pilot program.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman suggested Department of Finance Department of Agriculture and Rural Development make necessary efforts to deploy program in coming time.
