(ĐN)- According to owners of some chicken farms in Dong Nai province, the price of chicken eggs has fallen sharply in the past two weeks.

At present, traders buy eggs from breeding farms in the province at a cost of VND1,600 per egg, down by VND200 compared with the end of July 2011. The price of some food items including pork, chicken and eggs have witnessed a sharp decrease in Dong Nai because many people in the province have taken vegetarian food in Vu Lan holiday (the seventh lunar month).
Farmer Lam Thanh Duc, owner of Thanh Duc Chicken Farm in Xuan Loc district said the price of chicken eggs would continue to fall until the middle of September. Thanh Duc Chicken Farm produces around 1.6 million chicken eggs per year.
