Pepper price rises in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- The pepper prices in Dong Nai have presently reached a record high of VND124,000-VND126,000 a kilogram, up over VND10,000 compared with the beginning of August 2011.

These prices guaranteed great profit for pepper growers, but the number of households in Dong Nai province having pepper for sale is not much. Most of pepper growers in the province have sold out their products after harvesting.
Pepper harvest season will start in November in Dong Nai.

Dong Nai now has over 7,000 ha of pepper under cultivation; of which, more than 6,000 ha are in harvest time, with an annual average yield of 2 tons per ha.

Pepper cultivation in Dong Nai is largely concentrated in the three districts of Xuan Loc, Cam My, and Tan Phu.
