(ĐN)- Nearly 470 hectares of rubber plantations in Dong Nai province have been struck by the disease so far this year, an increase of nearly 250 hectares when compared to the middle of July 2011, according to the Provincial Plant Protection Department.

High moisture content from heavy rains in recent months has created conditions conducive to disease outbreaks on rubber trees.
The Provincial Plant Protection Department has urged local farmers to spray chemicals on affected rubber trees to prevent the spreading of the disease.
