(ĐN)- The total area under vegetable cultivation in Dong Nai province is expected to increase by nearly 1,000 hectares this year with an estimated output of over 13.7 tonnes per hectare on average,  an increase of 0.5 tonnes over last year, according to the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The four districts of Xuan Loc, Tan Phu, Cam My and Thong Nhat are the largest producers of vegetables in Dong Nai.

The increase in the area under vegetable cultivation in the province is due to cultivation of high yielding vegetable varieties and the increased use of advanced technology in vegetable production.

Despite fluctuations in vegetable prices since the start of the year, local vegetable growers can get a profit of VND 4 million –VND 5 million per 1,000 square meters per crop.
