At least 20 tons of assorted fish, some of which have high economic value like dieu hong, chep (carp) and breeding fish, were found dead in Bien Hoa city’s Hiep Hoa commune, Tan Mai and Thong Nhat wards on Jan 2.
The fish had been raised in cages by local farmers on the river in the city.
Earlier, Thong Nhat ward authority reported the death of 10 tons of fish from farms on December 14-16.
A total of more than 200 tonnes of fish have died in the area since June, causing a loss of tens of billions of Vietnamese dong
