Many of the province’s socio-economic targets were met or surpassed, according to committee records.
The province’s Gross Domestic Product saw an annual increase of 11.2% in 2010. Accordingly, the industry-construction sector increased 14.7%, services up 14.7%, agriculture - forestry - fishery sector up 3.9%.
Export turnover also recorded a significant annual growth rate of 20.5% while budget revenue increased by 27.5% year-on-year.
Import turnover increased by 19.1% over last year, of which materials for production recorded the highest proportion as usual.
In 2010, Dong Nai is estimated to lure more than US$1.5 billion in foreign direct investment, including the newly registered funds and extra capital from operational projects, fulfilling 100 percent of the year’s target.
The province is expected to attract VND20 tril in domestic investment this year, fulfilling more than 200 percent of the year’s target. The figure included new projects and capital-added projects.
Dong Nai also reported a total of VND32,321 billion in social development investment capital, fulfilling 104.3 percent of the set target and accounting for 42.7 percent of the province’s GDP.
