(ĐN)- The Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment had a working session with relevant agencies to discuss on the land use planning up to 2020 and the five-year (2011-2015) land use plan of Dong Nai province on November 8.
Under the plan, agricultural land in Dong Nai will decrease by nearly approximately 52,000 hectares to nearly 417,000 hectares by 2020. The increase in urbanisation and industrial park development activities will cause a shrinking of agricultural land.
Meanwhile, between 2011-2015, additional 36,000 hectare of rice cultivation land will be used for non-agricultural purposes, and the figure will be increased to nearly 174 hectares by 2020. In addition, about 33,000 hectares of rural land will be converted to urban development by 2020.
