(ĐN)- Dong Nai has saved 54 kWh of electricity from the beginning of the year up till now, mostly from public lighting, offices and industrial production, according to Deputy Director of Dong Nai Power Company Ho Minh Quang.

In the coming time, the company will cooperate with Department of Industry and Trade to implement tough measures to save electricity.
Dong Nai’s electricity sector targets to reduce power consumption by between 10 and 50 per cent to help ease the current shortage. It will make necessary efforts to cut back the use of public lighting, including advertisement billboards, by 50 per cent, and directed State and non-state businesses in the province to reduce consumption by a minimum of 10 per cent.
Meanwhile, the sector will also encourage households to save electricity in daily activities by using compact lights and proper use of household electrical equipment like irons, air-conditioners and electrical cookers, etc.
Recently, a program to replace incandescent lamps with compact fluorescent lamps for the poor is being launched in Dong Nai, more than 20,000 poor households are benefited from this program.
