(ĐN)- On April 25, a ceremony was held with the attendance of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee to review Dong Nai province’s foreign investment attraction during the past 20 years.
Dong Nai has so far attracted more than 900 FDI projects totaling around $12 billion from 32 countries and territories. Accordingly, 700 projects have been operating in Dong Nai’s industrial parks, providing jobs for over 300,000 laborers. FDI sector makes up 42.5 percent of the province’s GDP and 95 percent of export turnover, contributing to socio-economic development of Dong Nai. However, according to Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, in order to further attract and raise the efficiency of foreign investment, in the time to come, it is necessary to work out more active solutions to improve the quality and the effect of foreign investment attraction, pay attention to human resource training, invest in developing technical infrastructure systems, co-operate with strong partners, attract high-tech projects, and take initiative in promoting investment and increase foreign investors’ confidence in their investment in Dong Nai.
On this occasion, the province’s leaders awarded certificates of merit and campaign medals to FDI enterprises, industrial zone infrastructure development companies, collectives and individuals who have made important contributions to attracting foreign investment over the past 20 years.
At the ceremony, the provincial leaders granted licenses to five foreign-invested projects with a combined capital of $1.4 billion.
