(ĐN) - On April 25, Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee granted licenses to five foreign-invested projects with a combined capital of $1.45 billion.

These projects included two projects to build ecological urban areas in Long Thanh district’s Long Hung commune, which have investment capital of $750 million and $518.75 million, invested by Waterfront Dong Nai City Ltd. Co (a joint venture between Dong Nai Agriculture Service Cooperative Alliance, An Phu Long JSC and Singaporean Portsville Pte), and Aqua City JSC (a joint venture among Dong Nai Agricultural Service Cooperative Alliance, An Phu Long JSC and Merrytime International Ltd, a subsidiary of British Virgin Islands). Besides, the Berjaya-D2D Company Limited will invest $100 million in a complex of a hotel, apartment building, offices and services centre in Bien Hoa city’s Thong Nhat ward; the Shiseido Vietnam will build a $49 million factory in Amata IP; and the KBR Vina will pour nearly $39 million in Nhon Trach 2 IP.
So far this year, the province had attracted $1.8 billion in foreign investment, a six-fold increase over the same period last year and 20 percent more than the yearly plan.
