The LG Economic Research Institute (LGERI) of the Republic of Korea (RoK) said that Viet Nam is really a land with plenty of opportunities because of its abundant natural resources and huge development potential.
In a recently released report, LGERI predicted that Viet Nam ’s economy will strongly develop during the 2015-2020 period and will likely surpass Thailand and Indonesia by 2020. A number of the leading international economic groups have considered Viet Nam a new destination for investment after the country officially became the 150 th member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
However, LGERI said that there still exist some difficulties for foreign investors when they do business in Viet Nam as the country lacks spare parts manufacturing factories for the assembling industry, as well as slowly-developed highway systems.
According to the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the RoK became the largest foreign investor in Viet Nam in 2006 with total investment capital of nearly 7.8 billion USD.
