(ĐN)- General Director of Gannon Vietnam Limited Walter Blocker said at the meeting with Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot last week that the company previously planned to build a $200-million, 600-megawatt gas-fueled power plant in Go Dau industrial park (IP) in Long Thanh district but now wants to move the project to Ong Keo IP in Nhon Trach district. This plant will supply electricity for enterprises located in the industrial parks of Dong Nai province. Tin Nghia Company, an industrial park infrastructure developer may enter joint venture with Gannon Company for this project. Gannon Vietnam, located in Dong Nai Province’s Amata IP since 2000, is an investment project of US-headquartered Gannon International.

Now, Gannon Vietnam is trying to get agreement with Electricity of Vietnam Corporation (EVN) pursuant to which the Gannon Company will be able to deploy the project. EVN also plans to set up a power distribution company in Nhon Trach district and sell electricity to local IP tenants.

Chairman Vo Van Mot said that Dong Nai province welcomes investment from the Gannon Company and hoped that the Gannon company would reach agreement soon with EVN to realize the project.
