(ĐN)- In the first quarter of 2006, Dong Nai’s export turnover reached more than US$890 million, up 29.7% compared with the same period of last year. Of which, the central state-owned enterprises gained turnover export of over US$18 million, up 26.2%; the foreign-invested enterprises achieved US$829 million, an increase of 30% and the local enterprises earned US$42 million, up 25.6%. Some major export items were black pepper, coffee, refined wood products, textile-garment , footwear, cashew nut, honey, rubber, bamboo chopsticks, hand-made pottery, votive paper, etc. Some products recorded high export turnover, including refined wood (US$7.557 million, up 110%) and footwear ( US$6.790 million, up 300%), etc.
Dong Nai’s import turnover in the first quarter reached nearly US$1,021 million, 10% higher than that of last year. Major import items included medicine, raw - material tobacco, industrial chemical and other consumer goods.
