Dong Nai Newspaper not only acts as the official organ of Dong Nai provinces’ party executive committee but also takes an active part into social works in order to help the local poor people and others. In 2004, Dong Nai Newspaper collected over than VND 650 million from sponsors and benefactors for charity work. Based on this raised fund, 26 scholarships called as "Hoang Minh Chau scholarship" with each value of VND 1 million have been offered to outstanding children of poor civil servants and party members. Besides, another considerable action was to hold a ceremony entitled "Spring Tree on the occasion of Lunar New Year by 2004" for giving 100 gifts with each value of VND 70,000 to the poor people around the city. The 3rd offering scholarship programme entitled "Overcoming difficulties for a bright future" was carried out in order to offer scholarships with total amount of VND 144 million to 120 poor pupils. Each scholarship valued VND 1,200,0000. This programme was financed by Happy Cook Co. Ltd. located in Bien Hoa 2 industrial Zone. In the other hand, Dong Nai Newspaper mobilized the local readers to contribute VND 118,600,000 for families having injured and died children as caused by the serious traffic accident in Trang Bom district at the beginning of 2004. Furthermore, VND 60 million were collected for helping heart operation of 2 poor children. Another VND 10 million were offered to one family who had 2 drowned children and another one who had congenital malformation twins. In addition, Dong Nai Newspaper mobilized to raise money for building one charity house with its value of VND 6 million. Moreover, a charity performance entitled "the 3rd sympathetic melody" was held successfully. As a result, it raised VND 263 million for charity fund. It aimed to offer scholarships to poor pupils following a program entitled "offering 100,000 notebooks and 200 bicycles to underpriviledged children in the remote areas" . The 2nd Dong Nai Newspaper Cup for children under 11 was held last year. We mobilized the local units and individuals to contribute VND 20 million for the award presentation. At the present, Dong Nai Newspaper has forwarded the 4th offering scholarship programme entitled "Overcoming difficulties for a bright future" in the academic year by 2004-2005. 150 scholarships will be offered to poor pupils on this occasion with each value of VND 1 million. This programme was carried out under the sponsorship of Happy Cook Co. Ltd.

From the beginning of 2005 up to now, Dong Nai Newspaper has mobilized the local sponsors and benefactors to contribute VND 150 million from for charity work. A programme entitled "Spring tree on the occasion of Lunar New Year by 2005" was carried out to give 200 gifts and total value of VND 26 million the poor people around the city. Each value was VND 130,000. Besides, Dong Tien Garment Co. Ltd. contributed VND 20 million to a case of heart operation for an outstanding poor child in Bien Hoa city. Another 32 scholarships called as "Hoang Minh Chau scholarship" will be offered to outstanding poor pupils that are the same as last year.
